Last night was a first for me. I was Sempai. It meant that I was the one with the most experience in class, even if it was just for a short period of time. I had the privilege to lead the warm-ups in class.
Shortly afterwards one of our black belt students arrived and after some body conditioning and bag work, he took over the class for the evening. He’s got and illustrious street fighting record with the scars to prove it, he used to box and does Pressure point combat in his spare time... His class revolved around multiples combat, we were drilling incoming attacks from all angles from multiple opponents and with the class being mostly junior is turned out to be a very good call as I also got some teaching time in.
His passion came through in every word he spoke and every move he demonstrated. His inspiration and passion as a Ninja infected the rest of us and if it wasn’t for my grumbling tummy we would still be in the Dojo blocking and ducking each other’s attacks.
